Statement of Standards

The Wayfinding Institute, Inc. is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, nonpartisanship, financial accountability, and scholarly rigor. As an international non-governmental organization, the Institute operates under the following standards to guide its governance, research, public engagement, and operational conduct:

  1. 1. Strict Nonpartisanship

    • Political Neutrality: The Institute is strictly nonpartisan and non-electoral. We do not endorse, support, finance, or campaign on behalf of any political party, candidate, or movement.

    • Independent Engagement: Our work focuses exclusively on policy analysis, civic awareness, and diplomatic engagement with international civil society and global bodies like the United Nations.

  2. 2. Purpose and Scholarly Integrity

    • Mission Focus: Guided by UN Resolution 67/265 regarding Mā'ohi self-determination, we operate exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes under Section 501(c)(3).

    • Rigorous Research: We produce objective, data-driven analysis across law, public finance, governance, and culture to support local empowerment.

  3. 3. Governance Integrity

    • Conflict Management: Directors and officers must disclose potential conflicts of interest and strictly recuse themselves from related deliberations and votes.

    • Independent Oversight: Executive performance and compensation are evaluated exclusively by an independent, non-compensated board committee.

  4. 4. Financial Accountability

    • Transparent Reporting: Financial records are maintained under US GAAP, with annual independent CPA audits or reviews based on revenue thresholds.

    • Internal Controls: Strict internal controls, dual-signature requirements, and rigorous oversight safeguard all organizational assets and distributed grants.

  5. 5. Ethical Stewardship

    • Community Standards: We unite the Mā'ohi diaspora, local partners, and global experts under high standards of conduct, with expulsion protocols for actions harmful to the mission.

    • Public Benefit: All organizational resources are permanently dedicated to public benefit and aligned charitable purposes.
